SMART BOWEN UK

Undergraduate Training with Smart Bowen UK

Picture
At present, Smart Bowen UK undergraduate courses are held at our training centre in Malvern, Worcestershire. Depending on demand, we may arrange for courses to be conducted in other parts of the country in the future.

Training sessions are staged in weekend modules every six to eight weeks subject to the specific requirements of each group.  In the interval between these face to face modules students are expected to complete case studies and workbook exercises.

With Smart Bowen® there are two undergraduate training options:  the Bowen Essentials program and the Bowen practitioner stream.  All students complete the Essentials training which in essence enables you to treat your family and friends.  Those who choose to go on to become professional therapists participate in the practitioner training.  The Essentials program comprises 4 intensive training days plus home study and practice over a period of two to three months.  Another 12  intensive training days delivered over eight to twelve months are required to complete the practitioner training.  Additional revision days can be arranged but are not essential.

Once enrolled, students usually proceed through the course with the same cohort until graduation but it is possible to interrupt your training and pick it up again with another group later on.   Those who wish to qualify to practise Bowen Therapy can normally expect to take 12 to 18 months to achieve practitioner status.

Costs

Costs are calculated on the number of intensive training days for which a student enrols.  The current cost of intensives is £120 per day.  Thus, students completing the Essentials program will be charged £480 and those that do the practitioner training will be asked to pay £1920 (i.e. £480 for the Essentials course and £1440 for the remaining 6 two-day modules).  In addition, students are required to purchase Brian Smart's book "Smart Bowen Therapy: The Practitioner's Guide" which is used as the manual for all Smart Bowen® courses.  This is offered at the discounted price of £40.

The above costs cover all training including the marking of case studies and the final assessment.  Refreshments (but not meals) are included for the face-to-face sessions.  If a group of  four or more students elects to have additional revision days these will be run for a charge of £240 (i.e, £60 per student or less depending on the number attending).

Students who choose to pay for their whole course in advance will be given a discount of 5%.
