Undergraduate Training with Smart Bowen UK
At present, Smart Bowen UK undergraduate courses are held at our training centre in Malvern, Worcestershire. Depending on demand, we may arrange for courses to be conducted in other parts of the country in the future.
Training sessions are staged in weekend modules every six to eight weeks subject to the specific requirements of each group. In the interval between these face to face modules students are expected to complete case studies and workbook exercises.
With Smart Bowen® there are two undergraduate training options: the Bowen Essentials program and the Bowen practitioner stream. All students complete the Essentials training which in essence enables you to treat your family and friends. The Essentials program comprises 3 intensive training days plus home study and practice over a period of two to three months.
Those who choose to go on to become professional therapists participate in the practitioner training which comprises another 10 intensive training days plus 5 revision days over a period of ten to twelve months. Upon completion of these 18 days of intensive instruction and supervised revision and practice students in the practitioner stream will be entered into a 2-day exam weekend.
Once enrolled, students usually proceed through the course with the same cohort until graduation but it is possible to interrupt your training and pick it up again with another group later on or if you wish it is possible to train 1-2-1 with a small additional fee. Those who wish to qualify to practise Bowen Therapy can normally expect to take 12 to 18 months to achieve practitioner status.
